STEFAN SCHLEUPNER EXHIBITION JANUARY 30TH, 2025

Stefan Schleupner (*1983, Karl-Marx-Stadt) started out with Graffiti in the late Nineties and later studied media art at the HfBK Dresden and the Bezalel Academy Jerusalem. For several years, he has lived and worked in Tel Aviv (Israel) and Leipzig. His works are part of the Kunstfonds Berlin and the Kulturstiftung des Freistaates Sachsen, and he has participated in numerous exhibitions and festivals.

Stefan Schleupner's work is characterized by the translation of physical quantities into abstract visual and digital images. The repetitive patterns of his works refer to technical recordings of invisible or inaudible levels of nature and make them visible as rhythms or autonomous ciphers.

His Artist Residency collaborative work at CAMMANN Studios titled "Protokoll - Gewebte Antennen" presents a cross-media installation with Media Artist Markus Stein from Berlin. Over the past few months, the two artists have developed an artistic and experimental work that connects industrial history and the present on various levels. Using historical Jacquard looms, which shaped the history of original CAMMANN textile production in Chemnitz, the artists have woven electrically conductive textiles. These are used as antennas in the exhibition and, with the help of a specially developed computer program, show the electromagnetic nature of our environment.

The preview show on January 30th, 2025 gives an insight into the process and the artwork PROTOKOLL, the artists are present.
